Butlins

Butlins in Minehead has always been the destination we went to on holiday when I was growing up I went every year from the time I was one until I was fifteen. I have a lot of great memories of the going every October.  The Canadian Geese (even if they steal bread) Wizzy World, the funfair, the market in town and eating ice-cream in the restaurant on the sea front.

Those Eyes

I love this picture I took by accident of my nephew yesterday and knew right away I wanted to make a layout with it. But it has been really hard work to make something that I like.

I've looked at sketch after sketch and could find a layout I loved. So we've had twelve different placement of the pictures. 4 different picture sizes. The picture has been in colour (the ring he is looking through was bright purple) black and white and sepia. There were six different titles. 14 different colour schemes, countless pieces of patterned paper being opened and dragged back and forth. Don't even start me on embellishments or different alpha's that have been tried. But finally after ten hours I made a layout which I love. So I guess it was worth it in the end.

Turning the Water Red

Another layout

I was looking through some old photos and found this picture of my grandmother (on the right) and my great aunt. The photo was black and white but I tinted it to get a the look I wanted.

In Flanders Field Layout

I read this poem when we did War Poetry as part of my English Lit A-Level (about seven years ago) I don't know why but it came back to me today and I've been repeating the first line in my head all day so I had to make a layout.
