So on Monday we decided to take the hour drive to Chester Zoo. We got there just as it was opening and the place was about to get over run by hundreds of school kids on end of year trips.
Right by the entrance is the elephant house. We got to go in and see the elephants having there breakfast. We went outside just in time to see the elephants emerging for the day.
We wandered around for five hours looking at the animals.
There were even some surprise exhibits – who expects to see animatronic dinosaurs when the go to the zoo?
Then we queue to go on the monorail around the whole park to get a different perspective and see some of the animals that had been hiding when we had first gone around.
After that we caught the Park and Ride (which is right next to the zoo car park) into Chester to do a little shopping. My stepdad had to go into every charity shop – there were about eight in a row.
We then drove back to the caravan park exhausted, so after dinner we just watched some tv until we all fell asleep.
