Colin Jackson.

Todays prompt was to post a picture from years ago and write something inspired by that.

colin jackson<----- That’s me on the right with the ponytail.

On a warm Friday, we all gathered around on the school playground waiting as a black limousine pulled up with Colin Jackson inside who had come to meet us as part of our prize. Our teacher Miss Templar was very big on saving the environment, so we got involved in collecting milk bottle tops for the Save the Children appeal. We were a small school but we managed to save over 180,600 milk bottle tops.  It helped that we lived in a small village where we managed to get the neighbours to save their milk bottle tops and that fact the father of one of the students was a milkman who asked everyone on the round to save their milk bottle tops for us. We ended up with the equivalent of 6000 milk bottle tops for every student, which meant we came top in the country in a campaign that raised over £106,000.
Our prize was meeting Colin Jackson and having a training session and picnic.  Great job!  Circa 1990.

Here is my layout of this day.
